Envision Workshop

Today I am sharing something that I want so, so much for my business. And that is to attend the Envision Workshop. For those of you who don’t know about Envision…it is a 3 day workshop hosted by 6 amazing female photographers and I know it would be the perfect opportunity for me and my business to grow!

I saw Natalie‘s post today on how the 6 amazing girls/photographers who are hosting Envision are giving away a seat! So…here’s my chance! In her blog post we were given two options. 1. Submit a short paragraph about why you would like to attend the workshop via email โ€“ OR โ€“ 2. Write and publish your own blog post explaining why you would want to attend envision and email the link to the post.

I sat down to write my email and I actually was about half way through when I realized this shouldn’t be an email…this should be a blog post. I originally chose the email route because I thought to myself…I can submit this via email and if I don’t win the giveaway that will be okay because only I will know I tried to enter. It felt safe. I decided to make this a blog post because I think it’s important to say what you want and to put your words out there. And I’m completely okay if only my Mom and one of my friends reads this. At least I tried and at least I put myself out there and shared what I want. I think that in itself is important. And I am not saying if I write a blog post I think I am more likely to be chosen over sending an email…I am just saying it feels better to me as a blog post. It feels right.

This year is my first year in business and I am so happy for what I’ve accomplished in 2013. I am also excited, anxious, and nervous for what 2014 holds! One thing that keeps me going is hope that one day I’ll be able to go full time with my business. Right now I consider my growing photography business my full time job. However, I also serve part time (which, honestly seems like it is full time most of the time). I had 5 weddings of my own this year and picked up A LOT of second shooting…especially this fall! I know it will take time to get things off the ground – after all it is only my first year and I have to remind myself of that a lot! But I’m always looking for the next thing to do. I think as a small business owner the best thing you can do for your business is to never stand still. Always keep moving forward and always look for a new way to grow. That’s what I’m hoping to do with Envision and that’s why I love photography and this industry in general because there’s always the opportunity to grow and learn and that makes things exciting! From the first moment I read about Envision I got so excited and knew this would be the perfect opportunity! Learning from just one photographer is amazing but learning from 6 photographers who all have different experiences and advice to share is BEYOND amazing! I’m hoping this will be my next thing for me and my business – a way to learn, grow, and move forward.

And because a blog post isn’t the same to me without photos here are two sneak peeks I’ve been wanting to share!! Enjoy!

Brittany, you are an amazing photographer! I know how hard it can be to grow in the wedding industry. I am glad we have had the opportunity to work together as vendors. I am always more than impressed with your shooting style, your attention to detail, and your great customer service skills. You were totally right to post this as a blog. I hope you win, you and your business totally deserve it!

And hey, now you know, more than just your mom and one friend read your blog! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Brittany,

Hope all is well. I can’t think anyone else would deserves this opportunity more than you. The Envision group would be making a huge mistake if they did not give you that seat. The photographs from our wedding continue to help relive that very special day. You went above and beyond to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. It was apparent how passionate you are about your work and your business. More than just taking pictures you assisted in emotional support, helping with hair, outfits, and anything else we needed. Now if it could have been just a little less windy and warmer, but it was still the best day of our lives. Thank you so much for your due diligence, truly making the day and capturing memories we will share for our eternity.
